NEW ORLEANS – As the indoor track & field season draws to a close, the Tulane women will make one final road trip to close out the 2016-17 regular season, returning to Baton Rouge on Friday for the LSU Twilight Invitational. Friday's meet will serve as the Green Wave's second trip to the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse this season as director of track & field Eric Peterson readies his team for the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championships.

THE MEET
Tulane will bring nearly two dozen athletes to Baton Rouge for Friday's meet to compete in nine different events, with six Green Wave runners in the final mile race of the regular season. Tulane will also send four competitors to the starting line of the 800 meter, while a trio of pole vaulters hope to improve on their season-best jumps.
Eyes are turned to redshirt senior Alyssa Applebee in the pole vault, who hopes to add a few centimeters to her career-best to ensure her participation in the NCAA Indoor National Championships in March. Tulane is also looking for a strong performance from sophomore Jessica Duckett in the 60m hurdles, as she currently holds the American's third-best time in the event just one week before the conference meet.
At Friday's meet, Tulane will square off against opposition similar to that of the LSU Purple Tiger in January, with in-state opponents UNO and Southeastern also making the trip to Baton Rouge.
UP NEXT
Following this weekend's regular season finale, Tulane will travel back to Birmingham for the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on February 24-25.
