Wave coming off of highest ranked win in post-Katrina era

BLUE-GRAY DRAW
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team will certainly be carrying a lot of momentum into this weekend's Blue-Gray Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama, after improving to 11-2 with a big 4-3 victory over No. 28 LSU. The two-day event features an eight-team bracket and begins Friday morning, as the Green Wave kick things off against No. 8 Auburn at 9 a.m. CT.

A WAVE OF MOMENTUM
This past Wednesday, the Olive and Blue accomplished two firsts in the post-Katrina era when they knocked off No. 28 LSU, 4-3. It marked the first win over the Tigers since 2005 and the first top-30 ranked win for Coach Sisk at the helm of the program.
Â
WHO'S HOT
The answer to this is simply the bottom half of Tulane's singles lineup. Ivone Alvaro, Elena Muller and Christina Sisti came up big for the Wave on Wednesday as all three won their singles matches to clinch the upset over LSU. Together, the trio is a combined 25-6 this spring.

A LOOK AT AUBURN
Auburn enters the contest with an impressive 13-1 mark, with their lone loss being a 4-1 decision to No. 2 Ohio State. The Tigers are now ranked No. 8 in the country, which marks their highest ranking in program history. Junior Alizee Michaud and freshman Taylor Russo are ranked No. 36 and No. 99 in singles, respectively. Together, the duo are ranked No. 15 in doubles, posting a 9-1 dual record.
