Nov 15, 2018 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane men's basketball head coach Mike Dunleavy Sr., has signed a pair of frontcourt players, Nobal Days and Henri Langton, to National Letters of Intent in the NCAA's Early Signing Period. The duo comprises the first two commitments in the program's 2019 signing class.
NOBAL DAYS
A 6'9 forward, Days is in the midst of his fourth year as a starter at Washington Park High School where he has been tabbed as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Wisconsin by WisSports.net. After his junior season, he was invited to the National Basketball Players Association Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville in June 2018.
Days averaged 12.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 4.8 steals, 3.3 blocks and two steals per game while leading Park to a 21-5 record during his junior season. In one of the best performances of the season, he produced a quadruple-double with 10 points, 10 boards, 12 assists and 10 blocks. On the AAU circuit, he played for the Howard Pulley Panthers under head coach Antwan Harris.
In the classroom, Days was recognized by the Racine County Sports Hall Fame as a scholar-athlete in 2018. Currently, he maintains a 4.3 grade point average and ranked ninth in his junior class. Days also held scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Boston College, Kansas State, Nebraska, Marquette, Illinois, Northwestern and UNLV among others.
Dunleavy on Days: "We've recruited him for a few years and he's one of the best IQ players in the country. He's a terrific passer with a great work ethic. He can rebound defend and block shots. We're very excited for Nobal and what his future holds."
HENRI LANGTON
A 6'10 post player from Leicester, England, Langton possesses years of experience playing for Great Britain's national teams at the U15, U16 and U18 levels, before competing with the U20 squad that reached the semifinals of the 2017 FIBA World Championships in Oradea, Romania.
He is currently enrolled at Missouri State-West Plains Junior College, playing for coach Chris Popp. The program begins the 2018-19 season ranked 16th in the NJCAA Division I rankings. In 2017-18, Langton played 29 games with Otero Junior College in Colorado where he shot just shy of 60 percent from the field and helped the team reach the NJCAA postseason tournament.
As a prep player, Langton played at Charnwood High School under head coach Josh Merrington, helping the team to the EABL Championship in 2016. He was also selected to the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic in his native country three times.
Dunleavy on Langton: "Henri is a stretch-five big man who can shoot the three from pro distance. He's a big body with good hands who finishes around the basket. We had hoped to sign him as a prep player, but he's been playing at the junior college level. We're happy to bring him into the fold and have him for two seasons."
