Baseball Set for Angry Wave World Series

New Orleans – The Tulane baseball team will conclude its fall workouts over the course of the next two weeks with the second-annual Angry Wave World Series which begins Tuesday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

The five-game event begins Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m., with game two on Friday at 4 p.m., game three Sunday at 10 a.m. and game four on Tuesday, November 13 at 3 p.m. The finale is scheduled for Thursday, November 15 at 4 p.m.

"We try to make it as fair and competitive as we can, which is really what I'm looking for," head coach Travis Jewett said. "It's the closing of the fall and it's taking the training up to this point and inserting it into game-like activity. Because any time we get a chance to play against each other or outside competition the goal is to win."

All games will be seven innings in length, with the squad divided into a green team and blue team. The green team, the designated home team for the Angry Wave World Series, will be headed up by assistant coach Eddie Smith, while the blue team will be helmed by assistant coach Brian Harris. Pitching coach Daniel Latham will serve as the pitching coach for both sides.

The Green Wave has had a productive fall, playing in one exhibition against South Alabama on the road with the other being cancelled due to weather against Southern Miss. Now, the upperclassmen will lead the two sides into the final weeks of offseason preparations before the start of the 2019 campaign beginning in February.

"I'm just looking forward to watching the kids compete and finishing the fall on a high note," Jewett said.
