
Women's Tennis Closes Regular Season Against Louisiana-Lafayette

NEW ORLEANS - Following a 12-day hiatus between matches, the Tulane women's tennis team returns to action and puts its three-match winning streak on the line by closing out the regular season on Friday, April 13 against Louisiana-Lafayette. The match will be played at the University of New Orleans with first serve scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Tulane (11-10) swept three straight matches in two days during Senior Weekend, defeating UL Monroe, Southern Miss and Southern between March 30-31. The Green Wave collected a 4-0 win over the Warhawks on Friday, before taking down the Golden Eagles, 4-1, and the Jaguars, 4-0, in a Senior Day doubleheader Saturday afternoon.
SCOUTING LOUISIANA-LAFAYATTE
The Ragin' Cajuns (14-9) enter Friday's contest coming off back-to-back losses in San Marcos, Texas, including a 4-3 setback against Arkansas State before dropping a 4-1 decision to UT-Arlington last Saturday. Louisiana-Lafayette is just 3-6 this season when playing away from its home courts and has a handful of common opponents with Tulane, including South Alabama, Southern, Southern Miss and UL Monroe. The Green Wave are 4-0 against those teams this season, while ULL is just 1-3 against those programs.
Louisiana is led by Marina Garcia's 12-6 overall singles record, which includes wins in seven of her last eight matches. Garcia owns a 6-1 mark when playing at the No. 6 spot in the lineup.
SISTIÂ ON A STREAK
Sophomore Christina Sisti has won six straight singles matches, a streak that began in the 4-3 win over East Carolina on March 17 in Memphis. Sisti owns a team-leading 16-7 overall record, including an 11-5 mark this spring.
THE LONG ROAD HOME
Tulane played seven straight matches on the road, which began on Feb. 20 at LSU and ended with a March 18 road matchup at Memphis. The Green Wave played four matches on two separate trips to Tennessee (Feb. 24-25 and March 17-18) and a pair in Norfolk, Va. (March 10-11), despite two matches in Storrs, Conn., (March 3-4) being cancelled.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Tulane will compete in the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championships which will take place April 17-21 in Dallas, Texas at SMU.
