Freeman Named Preseason First Team All-AAC

PHILADELPHIA – Krystal Freeman of the Tulane women's basketball team was named Preseason First Team All-American Athletic Conference the conference announced today (Oct. 14).
The junior forward led the Green Wave with 14.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while being the only Tulane player to start all the 30 games of the 2018-19 season. She also was tops on the team in field goal percentage at 50.3 percent. Freeman was named the AAC Most Improved Player and Second Team All-Conference in the 2018-19 season.
Last season, Freeman ranked sixth in the AAC in scoring and rebounding. She was fifth in the conference in field goal percentage. The Pineville, Louisiana native scored a career-high 27 points at Houston on Feb. 20, 2018. She grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds in the win over ECU on Jan. 5, 2018.
As a team, Tulane was picked to finish seventh in the league this season behind UConn, USF, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston and Temple. The Green Wave will begin the season Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. against Jackson State at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
