Southland Conference Championship - Day One Results
DALLAS – The No. 12 Tulane bowling team went 1-1 on Friday in the first round of the Southland Conference Championship, defeating Valparaiso after falling to No. 6 Stephen F. Austin.
"I was really impressed with how well the team bowled in the traditional games today," head coach Hayley Veitch said. "If we can have the same momentum in the baker games, we will be unstoppable. I'm excited for day two."
The Green Wave's 1-1 performance sends the team to the next round of the SLC Championship, with Tulane set to match up against Stephen F. Austin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. for a second time this weekend.
Senior Tiera Gulum and junior Madison McCall are currently tied for third in the overall tournament standings, each averaging scores of 208 after the first two matches.
