NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's 2019 cross country schedule is officially set, with the Green Wave set to compete in five regular season meets this fall, director of cross country and track and field Eric Peterson announced Thursday.
The Olive and Blue will open their season on Friday, Aug. 30, competing down the road at New Orleans in the Cross Country Opener at Lake Oaks Park. The women's 4K will start at 6 p.m., followed by the men's 5K which will kick off at 6:45 p.m.
Tulane remains in Louisiana for the team's next two meets, heading first to Nicholls for the Cross Country Invitational held at Nicholls Farm on Saturday, Sept. 21. The women's 5K will begin at 8 a.m., with the men's four mile set to start at 8:30 a.m.
Both the women's and men's teams finished first in last year's Nicholls Cross Country Invitational to open their seasons, with the women taking five of the top eight scoring positions and the men totaling five runners in the top 13.
Next up, the Green Wave will make their way to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Cross Country Invitational at Highland Park on Friday, Sept. 27.
The team's first out-of-state trip will come on Saturday, Oct. 19, as Tulane makes its way to Texas A&M for the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
Wrapping up their regular season on Friday, Nov. 1, the Green Wave remain on the road with a meet at Memphis at Shelby Farms Park.
Postseason action begins on Friday, Nov. 15 with the NCAA South Central Regional at Agriculture Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The NCAA Championships will be held just over one week later, on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.
