Women’s Tennis Begins 2019 Fall Season in Birmingham

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team gets its 2019 fall season underway this weekend during a trip to Birmingham, Alabama at the Samford Invitational.
The first of three straight days of competition begins Friday, September 27 with one round of doubles at 10 a.m., followed by one round of singles.
Along with Tulane, three additional schools will compete, including South Alabama, Samford and American Athletic Conference foe Memphis. The tournament draw will be conducted in a hidden dual format.
The Green Wave challenges Memphis in doubles and host Samford in singles on Friday, before facing South Alabama in doubles and Memphis in singles Saturday. On Sunday, the final day of the tournament, the Wave takes on Samford in doubles, followed by South Alabama for singles action.
Tulane returns four starters from last year's team, led by seniors Christina Sisti and Laura Fabrizi, junior Daniela La Fuente and sophomore Adelaide Lavery. Tulane welcomes three newcomers, including Vanderbilt transfer Lauren Gish as well as freshmen Mackenzie Clark and Lahari Yelamanchili.
