Sep 27, 2019 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – Members of the Tulane sailing team are back in action this weekend as the Green Wave head to Connecticut College to compete in the Women's Showcase Regatta.
The Olive and Blue are set to sail on Saturday and Sunday, with Tulane sending one team for each of the respective A and B Division races.
The Green Wave will sail against 15 teams on the water this weekend, including Boston University, host Connecticut College, Cornell, Dartmouth, Eckerd, Harvard, Hobart & William, Jacksonville, Northeastern, Old Dominion, St. Mary's, Stanford, Navy, USF and Yale.
Sophomore Ciara Rodriguez-Horan will sail the skipper position in the A Division boat, alongside crews Grace Siwicki and Amelia Schofield, while freshman Caroline Benson will handle the skipper role in the B Division boat with crews Lydia Brown and Kara Scully.
Tulane finds familiar opponents in Old Dominion and Jacksonville after hosting both teams in last weekend's Allstate Sugar Bowl Regatta. The Green Wave defeated the Monarchs and the Dolphins while finishing second in the regatta, falling only to defending national champion College of Charleston.
