Women's Tennis Hosts Southern, Southeastern Louisiana in Saturday Doubleheader

NEW ORLEANS – After starting the season with a doubleheader sweep of Alcorn State at home on Sunday, the Tulane women's tennis team welcomes Southern and Southeastern Louisiana for another twin bill on Saturday, January 25 at the City Park Tennis Center.
The first match against Southern is scheduled for a noon start at the City Park Tennis Center, followed by a 3:30 contest against Southeastern Louisiana. Follow the Green Wave on Twitter (@GreenWaveWTenn) for scoring updates throughout the day.
LAVERY'S DUAL SINGLES STREAK
Sophomore Adelaide Lavery collected a victory in her lone decision in Sunday's doubleheader, improving her dual match winning streak to seven straight dating back to the 2019 spring season.
LAST TIME OUT
Tulane picked up a 4-0 win over Alcorn State in match No. 1, before claiming a 5-0 victory in match No. 2 on Saturday to begin the dual match season with back-to-back wins for the fourth year in a row. Christina Sisti led the Green Wave (2-0) with a 2-0 mark at No. 5 singles, earning a pair of straight-set victories, while also going 1-0 with a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles in the second match of the day. Lauren Gish, Adelaide Lavery and Lauren Gish also collected respective singles wins.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN
Southern plays its second match of the season after dropping a 7-0 decision at LSU last Saturday. The Jaguars have suffered four consecutive 4-0 defeats at the hands of the Green Wave in each of the last four seasons.
SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
Saturday's matchup will be the Lions' first of the 2020 spring season after they posted a 7-12 overall record last year. Southeastern returns three All-Southland Conference performers from last season including sophomores Putri Insani and Flory Bierma, as well as junior Katya Cornejo.
