
Track and Field Travels to Houston for Two-Day Invitational

NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane indoor track and field team is headed to Houston this weekend to compete against more than 25 teams in the two-day Houston P5 and Mid-Major Invitational at the Yeoman Fieldhouse.
The Olive and Blue open day one with the long jump at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by the mile at 2:30 p.m., the 800-meter at 3 p.m., the 60-meter hurdles at 3:30 p.m., the 60-meter dash at 4:05 p.m. and the 400-meter at 4:50 p.m.
The high jump kicks off the field events on Saturday, beginning at 12:30 p.m., and is followed by the triple jump at 2 p.m., the shot put at 2:30 p.m. and the pole vault at 3:30 p.m. The first running event of the day is the 5000 meter run, scheduled for 2:15 p.m., followed by the 200-meter dash at 3:10 p.m., the 3000 meter run at 5 p.m. and the 4x400 meter relay at 6:15 p.m.
Three Green Wave women are set to run in the 60-meter, 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter, 400-meter and 800-meter races, with two in the mile, one in the 3,000 meter, one in the 5,000 meter and two teams in the 4x400 relay. Two student-athletes will compete in the high jump, triple jump and pole vault, with one in both the long jump and shot put.
In their last time out, the Green Wave won three events and totaled 14 top-five results at the Samford Invitational. Trina Malej won the triple jump and also broke a meet record with a distance of 12.52 meters, while Kyah Loyd won the hurdles with a time of 8.58 seconds and Maya Harewood ran to victory in the 400-meter dash at 56.36 seconds.
