Bowling Named NOLA Built Team of the Month
Jan 6, 2020 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS, La. – After hosting a bowling clinic for Special Olympics athletes, the Tulane University bowling team was named the athletic department's NOLA Built Team of the Month for December.
Â
Wrapping up a busy start to the season that saw the team compete in four tournaments, the Green Wave bowlers still found time to host a clinic at their home venue of Colonial Lanes in Harahan.
Â
"Although bowling is one of our smallest teams, they make quite an impact in the community," Tulane Assistant Athletics Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement Dr. Cornell Sneed said. "Coach Hayley Veitch does an amazing job finding time between the ladies' busy academic and athletic schedules to do meaningful work in the community."
Â
Showing the finer points of the game, the team was able to individually work with many of the attendees in a fun environment with various fundamentals and techniques.
Â
"We are thankful to be able to help out at the Special Olympics clinic," Veitch said. "It is a very rewarding opportunity and it is nice to be able to give back and share our bowling knowledge."
Â
The Green Wave return to action this weekend, taking part in the Stormin' Blue and Gold Vegas Classic hosted by Mount Saint Mary's at the South Point Bowling Plaza.
