Tulane Women’s Tennis Falls to SMU, 4-1

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss to SMU on Sunday afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center.
The Green Wave (6-3) fell behind early as they dropped the doubles point, falling 2-1. Christina Sisti and Lahari Yelamanchili were the lone Tulane doubles team to come away with a win.
Tulane's No. 1 doubles team of Mackenzie Clark and Lauren Gish held a 5-3 advantage, but were unable to close out SMU's tandem of Jackie Nylander and Isabella Zade, as they rallied for a 7-5 triumph to give the Mustangs the doubles point.
In singles, SMU jumped out to an early lead with wins on court No. 6 and court No. 5 and never looked back in securing the win.
The Green Wave's lone point on the afternoon came from Adelaide Lavery, as she picked up a straight-set win over SMU's Sarai Monarrez Yesaki, 6-4, 6-4, on court two.
Tulane travels to American Athletic Conference foe Wichita State on Saturday, February 22. First serve is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
