
Track and Field Wraps Up Regular Season Action at LSU

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — The Tulane indoor track and field team wrapped up regular season action in Baton Rouge on Friday, as the team recorded eight top five finishes at LSU in the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
Junior Bridgid Selfors highlighted the day for the Green Wave with a 5:15.41 time in the one mile, earning a second-place finish. Senior Mary Catherine Stovall followed right behind her, checking in in fourth with a time of 5:18.51.
Also recording impressive performances in the distance categories were senior Paige Fatland and junior Pauline Helm. Fatland finished second in the 800 meter with a time of 2:26.07 and was followed by Helm, in third with a time of 2:26.09.
Sophomore Nastja Modic finished fourth overall in the pole vault, notching a distance of 3.95 meters (12-11.50). Also recording fourth-place finishes in the field events were junior Danielle Wember, with a 5.38 meter (17-8.00) mark in the long jump, and junior Jordyn Lesh with a distance of 11.02 meters (36-2.00) in the triple jump.
Senior Brandi Hughes recorded a time of 8.47 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, good for a fourth-place overall finish. Graduate student Jessica Duckett was right behind Hughes, earning a time of 8.90 seconds to finish in seventh.
Tying her personal best time in the 400-meter dash was junior Asja Thompson, who finished in seventh overall at 59.15 seconds in the sprint.
Sophomore Aldrianna Dupree notched a time of 7.66 seconds in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash to stand in 14th.
The Green Wave travel to Birmingham, Alabama next weekend to compete in the American Athletic Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday.
