Women's Tennis Falls to UT-Arlington, 4-2

The Green Wave (6-5) fell behind early with the start of doubles, as the Mavericks (5-2) scored a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, before finishing off a 6-4 win on court two to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead into singles.
UT-Arlington earned straight-set wins on courts two and six, respectively, but Tulane got a boost from freshman and 101st-ranked Mackenzie Clark at the No. 1 spot in the lineup when she defeated Momoka Horiguchi, 7-5, 6-4, to improve to 6-0 this spring.
Freshman Lahari Yelamanchili also earned a straight-set victory, outlasting Aida Garcia Mendez, 6-4, 7-6(5), at the No. 3 position. The Wave were unable to complete the comeback however, as the Mavericks pulled out a three-set win on court four to clinch.
Tulane returns home to host 14th-ranked UCF next Saturday, February 29 at noon at the City Park Tennis Center. The Green Wave turns around to face 23rd-ranked Old Dominion the following day at noon.
