
Track and Field Travels to Houston for Second H-Town SpeedCity Series Meet

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's track and field team will compete in the second of three SpeedCity Series Meets in Houston on Friday, January 29.
There will be eight teams competing in the women's events held on Friday including Cincinnati, Houston, SMU, Temple, Tulane, UCF, USF and UTSA.
The morning will open with field events starting with the weight throw at 10 a.m. The high jump will be next for the Green Wave at 10:30, followed by the shot put at 11:30. The long jump will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the pole vault next up at 1 p.m. The field events will conclude with the triple jump at 2 p.m.
The running events will begin at 12:30 with the 3000m. Next up will be the semifinal for the 60m dash, followed by the semifinal for the 60m hurdles. The final for the mile will start next with the 400m dash straight after. The 60m hurdles final will follow, leading to the final for the 60m dash and 200m. Closing out the running events for the day will be the 4x400m relay.
Olivia Hicks returns looking for another victory in the high jump after winning with a distance of 1.62m last time the Green Wave was in Houston on Jan. 16. Trina Malej will be back after her win in the triple jump with a distance of 12.22m.
Hunter Robinson looks to defend her first place win in the 400m dash in Houston with a time of 56.91 seconds, while Kyah Loyd will be competing in the 60m hurdles again after her win of 8.67 seconds. Aldriana Dupree will be running again in the 60m dash after her winning time of 7.72 seconds. She will also line up in the 200m.
The Green Wave had a successful weekend two weeks ago in Houston at the first H-Town SpeedCity Series Meet with multiple wins in the field and track events and four new spots taken in the Tulane record book. Nicole Phanuef also set a new personal record in the 3000m with a time of 10:44.90.
Kristen O'Handley and Migle Muraskaite will also be traveling to Kansas to compete in the Austra Skujyte Pentathlon at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational hosted by Kansas State.
