NASSAU, Bahamas – Tulane University freshman Jalen Cook scored a game-high 25 points, but it was not enough as the Green Wave dropped a hard-fought 68-67 decision to Toledo on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship.

Tulane's one-point loss marked the fifth straight game this season, a Green Wave men's basketball game was decided by five points or less.

Cook's 25-point output marked the third time this season he has scored 20-or-more points. The Louisiana native finished the night by going 11-of-21 from the floor. Seventeen of his 25 points came in the second half alone.

The Green Wave only led for 38 seconds during the entire game, but despite trailing for most of the game, Tulane had an opportunity to win in the closing seconds.

Trailing by six points with 6:32 to go in the game, the Green Wave made one final push and outscored the Rockets by a 13-8 count. Cook led the way with six points during that stretch. With less than 30 seconds to go, Tulane had the ball in Cook's hand with a chance to win, but a missed jumper with less than two seconds remaining was off the mark, as the Rockets secured the win.

As a team, Tulane struggled from long-range, as it went 6-of-26 from beyond the arc. The Green Wave also was unable to control the glass, as they were outrebounded 53-33.

Tulane did force Toledo into 16 turnovers which it translated into 17 points. The Green Wave also held a 32-26 advantage in points in the paint and owned a 13-0 advantage in bench scoring.

Scott Spencer chipped in with nine points, while Jaylen Forbes, Kevin Cross and DeVon Baker all finished with seven points. Cross led the Green Wave with eight rebounds.

Tulane trailed 42-32 at the end of the first half, but would go on to outscore Toledo, 35-26 in the second half.
