Women’s Tennis Falls at Alabama, 6-1

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Tulane women's tennis team suffered its second defeat of the 2021 spring season, 6-1, at the University of Alabama on Friday afternoon.
The Green Wave (5-2) fell behind early in doubles, as the Crimson Tide (8-1) secured consecutive 6-2 wins on courts one and three, respectively, to take a 1-0 advantage heading into singles.
Alabama kept the pressure on in singles play, winning the first set on all six courts. The Crimson Tide went on to close out five matches in straight sets to clinch the match.
Playing in her first single match of the spring, sophomore and 108th-ranked Mackenzie Clark was able to split sets on court two with a 6-4 victory in the second frame. She went on to win the third-set tiebreaker, 12-10, to represent Tulane's lone tally on the scoreboard.
Next up, the Green Wave head to Starkville, Miss., to take on Mississippi State on Sunday, February 14 at noon.
