Men's Tennis Ready for Road Match at LSU

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's tennis team makes the short trip to Baton Rouge, La., for its third straight road match against a Southeastern Conference opponent on Sunday, February 7 at LSU. First serves are scheduled for 1 p.m., at the LSU Tennis Complex.
SCOUTING LSU
The Tigers (7-0) enter Sunday's match coming off an impressive 4-0 win over 23rd-ranked Texas Tech in Dallas on Thursday afternoon. LSU also owns wins over Alcorn State (twice), UL Lafayette, UTSA, Rice and Incarnate Word. The Tigers are led by redshirt freshman Ronnie Hohmann who is ranked No. 99 in the ITA singles poll. He owns a 4-1 record at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Hohmann and senior Rafael Wagner also comprise the nation's 60th-ranked doubles tandem.
LAST TIME THEY MET - JANUARY 31, 2020
In Baton Rouge, Tulane bounced back from a lost doubles point to win in straight sets on courts one, two and six, before Akos Kotorman clinched with a three-set win on court five to upend the Tigers. LSU earned a pair of singles wins on courts three and four in its 4-3 setback to the Green Wave.
LAST TIME OUT
Tulane dropped a 5-2 road match at Mississippi State on Jan. 31. After the Green Wave secured the doubles point, the Bulldogs won the first set on five singles courts and won five consecutive matches to claim the victory. Freshman Fynn Kuenkler came away with the Wave's lone singles win in three sets on court five.
IN THE RANKINGS
The Green Wave possess two players listed in the ITA's national singles rankings, led by senior Hamish Stewart at No. 40 and fifth-year senior Ewan Moore at No. 53.
THE DOUBLES POINT
Tulane has won the doubles point in all five of its matches this season and own a combined 12-1 overall record. Stewart and Moore are 5-0 at the No. 1 spot in the lineup, while freshman Billy Suarez and senior Akos Kotorman are 4-0 playing at the No. 2 position.
