Sailing Earns Four ICSA All-American Awards

 NEW ORLEANS – The Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) announced four members of the Tulane University sailing team earned All-American honors for their efforts in the 2021 season, Tuesday night.

Junior Ciara Rodriguez-Horan was named an ICSA Women's Skipper All-American, while sophomore Cameron Giblin earned ICSA Coed Skipper All-American honors. Sophomores Caroline Benson and Lydia Brown were recognized as honorable mention all-Americans with Benson getting the Women's Skipper nod and Brown receiving Crew honors.

Giblin led the Green Wave to a second-place finish at the Nelson Roltsch Invitational to open the season. He also helped Tulane bring home the title at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Giblin also sailed with Brown to finish fourth in the A Division at the ICSA Coed National Championship.

Rodriguez-Horan was the skipper of the A Division boat for the Green Wave's runner up finish at the ICSA Women's National Championship. She also helped lead the Olive and Blue to a runner-up finish at the Charleston Team Race. At Navy, Rodriguez-Horan skippered the best Tulane boat of the day with a third-place finish.

Benson claimed the B Division title at the ICSA Women's National Championship as the skipper. She also helped the Green Wave finish second early this season at Navy. Brown was the crew for Tulane's A Division boat that finished fourth at the ICSA Coed Championship. She also crewed the fifth-place boat at Navy earlier in the season.

These are the first All-Americans from Tulane since the program became a varsity sport in the 2018-19 season.
