NEW ORLEANS —The Tulane indoor track and field team are back on the road this Friday, headed for Birmingham, Alabama for the Samford Multi & Invitational.
The teams will be competing on familiar territory, the Birmingham Crossplex.
The field events will kick off the meet at 9 a.m. with shot put; the Green Wave will have three representatives in the event. Following shortly after will be pole vault and long jump at 10:30 a.m. Tulane's field team will be at bay until 2 p.m. when they return for high jump and triple jump.
The running events will begin at 11 a.m., starting with the preliminary rounds of the 60m dash and the 60m hurdles. They will be followed by the semi-final and finals for both events. Just after 1 p.m. the women will take to the starting line for the mile run; the 400m, 800m, 200m and 3000m will follow. Lastly the Green Wave will end the meet with the women's 4x400. The full schedule of events can be found here.
The Green Wave enter this match off the heels of a successful meet in Lexington, Kentucky last weekend. Tulane saw 10 top ten finishes highlighted by a personal record for Kristen O'Handley in the hurdles. O'Handley looks to have another productive showing in the event this week.
Hunter Robinson will compete in the women's 400m dash looking to build on her performance from the last meet in which she placed second. Louise Jones and Oneke Gwan will also be back at it in the 400m this weekend after placing in the top ten.
Sophomore Jordyn Lesh looks to continue the success in the jumping events, coming off last meet where she measured a 11.28 meters triple jump.
