HARAHAN, LA – The No. 17 nationally-ranked Tulane University bowling team ended the second day of the Colonial Lanes Classic, held at Colonial Lanes on Saturday, with a 3-2 record. The team is currently in sixth place overall after the first two days of competition.
The Green Wave posted a five-game average of 188.36 and totaled 4709 pins on the second day. Overall, the program has knocked down 9358 pins and has an average of 187.2 through the first two days.
The program started the day with a 958-837 victory over Alabama A&M. The team then earned the 943-738 victory over UAB. The third game was a 1037-964 victory for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore over Tulane. The fourth game saw Stephen F. Austin earn the win, 979-903, over the Green Wave. Tulane rallied for the win in the fifth game with a 941-877 victory over Lincoln Memorial to end the second day with a winning record.
Amelia Vasquez had scores of 219, 191, 160, 182, 207 for a total of 959 pins on the afternoon. Her pin total with 959 and average of 191.80 topped the team and ranked her 20th overall.
Mia Stolakis placed 48th overall with her 200.75 average. She had individual scores of 199, 185, 266, 153 for a total of 803 in four games.
Cassidy Williams had an average of 187.67 in her three games played to earn 63rd place. She had individual game scores of 210, 181 and 178 for 569 pins.
Katharina Mente finished 64th with an average of 183.67 in her three games played. She had game scores of 202, 179 and 170 for a total of 551 pins.
Jenica Baron was 65th with her average of 182.33 in three games. She had game scores of 182, 178 and 187 for a total of 547 pins.
Yarelis Alvarez placed 68th with her average of 180.67 in three games. She had individual game scores of 187, 170 and 185 for a total of 542 pins.
Morgan Gitlitz finished 70th with her average of 178.67 in three games. She had individual game scores of 156, 220 and 160 for a total of 536 pins.
Sofiia Druchyna placed 90th with her average of 202 in her one game played.
Tulane finishes the tournament on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the best-of-seven baker matches. The Green Wave begins play against Sam Houston State with the winner advancing to play against the loser of the Louisiana Tech and Stephen F. Austin matchup. The loser of the Sam Houston State matchup squares off against the winner of the UAB and Jackson State contest.
