
No. 17 Bowling Posts a 3-2 Mark On the Second Day of the Dezy Strong Classic

Coram, New York – The No. 17 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling continued to compete well on the second day of the Dezy Strong Classic at Coram Country Lanes in going 3-2 plus picking up 4741 pins. The program also saw Morgan Gitlitz earn All-Tournament Honors as she placed fourth overall among all competitors.
The team ended the first two days of the tournament in fifth place with 9351 total pins and a game average of 187.
Gitlitz earned All-Tournament Honors at the Dezy Strong Classic by placing fourth among all 118 individuals with 1060 pins and an average of 212. She had individual games of 230, 172, 234, 246 and 178.
Amelia Vasquez was 27th overall with 943 total pins and an average of 188.6.
Yarelis Alvarez placed 75th with 597 pins and her average of 199 per game.
Sofiia Druchyna earned 78th place with 565 pins and her average of 188.3 per game.
Katharina Mente was 79th with 543 pins and average of 181.0
Cassidy Williams placed 80th with 532 pins and average of 177.33.
Jenica Baron was 96th with 335 pins and average of 167.8
Mia Stolakis was 110th with 166 pins in her game played.
The program started the day with a 984-864 victory UAB. The program lost a highly competitive contest to Long Island 918-871 in the second game. The program fought hard in a 923-895 loss to Sacred Heart in the third game. The Green Wave had their best output thus far in the tournament with a 1088-1018 victory over Fairleigh Dickson in the fourth game. Tulane finished the day with a thrilling 903-838 win over St. Francis Pennsylvania in the fifth game of the second day.
Tulane finishes up the tournament on Sunday morning with the best-of-seven baker matches beginning at 7:45 a.m. The Green Wave begin play against Mount St. Mary's with the winner advancing to the next round against the loser of Stephen F. Austin and Vanderbilt. The loser of the Tulane – Mount St. Mary's match faces off against the winner of Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickson.
