
Track & Field Has a Strong Start to 2022-23 Indoor Season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Tulane men's and women's track & field program had a strong start to the indoor season on Friday at the BSC Panther Icebreaker at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The two teams totaled four event wins and 24 top-10 finishes on the afternoon.
Kristen O'Handley won the 60m hurdles with a 8.56. She also finished sixth in the high jump (1.60m).
Victoria Robinson won the 800m with a 2:14.11. Janae Dean finished just behind her in second (2:14.12). Abigail Heck placed fifth (2:21.37).
Reese Ragland won the mile (5:06.25). Ashley Horwitz placed fourth (5:18.65). Brianna Kirsch ranked sixth (5:24.05) with Brenda Ellis taking ninth (5:29.07).
Alexandra Potts won the pole vault (3.85m). Kristina Leggas finished seventh (3.55m) with Megan Fitzgerald earning 10th (3.40m).
Kara Steele finished as the runner-up in the triple jump (12.05m) with teammate Kaia Todd placed eighth (11.42m).
Maren Butler took third in the shot put (13.81m), while Margot Temines earned 10th (11.86m)
Other top-10 finishes for Tulane include Jalen St. Fort (4th – 800m – 1:54.73), Roman Schrader (5th – 800m – 1:56.90), Bethwel Tum (10th – 800m – 1:59.38), Jamie Polakoff (7th – mile – 4:34.61) and Patricija Ozolina (7th – high jump – 1.55m).
Next, the program takes a break for the holidays and will next be on the track from Jan. 13-14 at the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, Kentucky.
