
Tulane Women’s Basketball Set for Road Tilt at Memphis Thursday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University women's basketball (14-7, 5-4) will play for its fourth consecutive win and its third-straight against American Athletic Conference competition as it takes on Memphis (13-7, 4-5) on the road Thursday. Tipoff between the Green Wave and the Tigers is set for 7 p.m. CT from the Elma Roana Fieldhouse.
The Green Wave's matchup with the Tigers will be aired live on ESPN+. Fans can watch the game live by CLICKING HERE. Fans also can listen to the contest live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 88.3 WRBH with Tulane's "Voice of the Green Wave" Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
This will be the 55th all-time meeting between Tulane and Memphis. The Green Wave trails the series 25-29 despite winning the last three matchups. Tulane defeated the Tigers 81-74 in New Orleans in the first meeting this season on January 19, 2022. Tulane is 10-15 all-time on the road against the Tigers. The last time the Wave beat the Tigers in Memphis came on February 23, 2021, when Tulane defeated Memphis 75-52. Head Coach Lisa Stockton holds a 23-15 advantage over USF during her time at Tulane.
Four players are averaging at least 11 points for the Olive and Blue this season with redshirt senior Moon Ursin leading the team averaging 14.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. The Destrehan, Louisiana, native ranks fourth in the AAC in rebounding and seventh in scoring. Dynah Jones joins Ursin in the top-10 in scoring in the league with 12.8 points per contest and is averaging a team-high 14.1 points in league games. Arsula Clark follows with 11.4 points and 3.9 assists while Krystal Freeman rounds out the top scorers for Tulane posting 11.4 points and 7.6 boards per contest.
In its last time out, Tulane snapped its 19-game losing streak to USF on Sunday by defeating the Bulls 67-55 in Tampa, Florida. Ursin led the Wave in scoring with 18 points while Freeman added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Dynah Jones also finished in double figures with 13 points.
Memphis is coming off a 71-57 loss at UCF on Saturday, Feb. 5, in Orlando, Fla. The Tigers are led by senior Jamirah Shutes with an average of 11.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Memphis is averaging 67.6 points on 40.0 percent shooting while allowing 57.5 points per game at home. The Tigers are also winning the rebounding margin in home contests 40.8-33.9.
Following its matchup with the Tigers, the Green Wave will return to Uptown to host Cincinnati on Sunday, February 13. Tipoff between Tulane and the Bearcats is set for 2 p.m. CT in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
