Tulane Lands Two on the AAC Weekly Honor Roll
Mar 28, 2022 | Baseball
NEW ORLEANS – After the last week of non-conference play, Tulane University baseball lands two names on the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll. The AAC announced redshirt senior Luis Aviles and freshman Grant Siegel along with the rest of the honorees on Monday.
Â
Aviles earned a spot on the honor roll after he helped guide Tulane to a midweek win over Southeastern and a 2-1 series win over Dayton this past weekend at home. The Palmetto Bay native led The American in batting last week, hitting .636 (7-11) with six runs scored, two doubles and four runs driven in. He had multi-hit games in all three games he played in.
Siegel was named to the honor roll following a completely dominant performance in his second Friday night start, picking up his fourth win of the 2022 season. The Fort Lauderdale, Fl., native threw 6.0 innings, allowing one run with five strikeouts in a 12-1 series-opening win over Dayton.
