
Beach Volleyball Competes in Skyhawk Beach Invitational

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane beach volleyball (12-7) heads to Gulf Martin, Tennessee this weekend to take part in the Skyhawk Beach Invitational hosted by the University of Tennessee Martin.
The Wave will face four opponents in Ottawa University – Arizona, UTM, Missouri State and Liberty University.
This will be the first time that the Wave has faced Ottawa University – Arizona, UTM and Liberty in the history of the program.
Tulane has matched up with Missouri State three times holding a 2-1 lead. The most recent matchup comes in 2019 when Missouri State defeated Tulane 3-2.
LAST TIME OUT
Tulane beach volleyball went 1-3 on the day of the March to May tournament hosted by UAB. In total, they went 1-5 in the tournament facing five top 20 opponents.
Tulane started off the morning with a 3-2 win over UAB. Before dropping their matches versus both No. 7 Grand Canyon and No. 15 South Carolina.
Haley Gibson and Savka Popovic got the first match victory of the day for Tulane, winning 21-9 and 21-11.
Grabbing the next point was court one made up of Maddie Speicher and Kendall Peters. They put away UAB 21-14 and 21-18.
Pair three Sara Hall and Ashton Mares got the match-clinching point for Tulane by taking UAB in three sets (16-21, 21-19, 15-10).
Tulane was swept by No. 7 Grand Canyon in the afternoon. Cole and Green game the closest to a match victory by taking GCU to three sets.
The Green Wave also dropped their matchup versus No. 15 South Carolina. The only Tulane point came from Gibson and Popovic who won 21-17, 21-17.
