
Tulane Women’s Tennis Hosts Middle Tennessee Thursday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's tennis team will welcome Middle Tennessee to the City Park Tennis Center for a match on Thursday at 12 p.m. CT. The Green Wave will enter the match with a 5-3 record after picking up a 4-0 victory in its last match at Louisiana-Lafayette on March 3.
Tulane holds a 2-2 record all-time against Middle Tennessee. The Wave has lost the last two meetings against the Blue Raiders with the latest match coming on March 17, 2019. In the most recent meeting, Tulane lost 4-3 to Middle Tennessee in New Orleans. The last time the Green Wave defeated the Blue Raiders came on March 31, 2017, by a score of 4-2.
The Green Wave is led in doubles action by the pairing of Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell. The duo holds a 7-1 record on the season with wins in their last two matches. In singles play, Tulane is paced by Yelamanchili and Russell each with a 6-1 record. Cora Barber is also off to a strong start on the singles courts as she is a perfect 4-0 to start the year.
Following its match with Middle Tennessee, the Green Wave will host fellow American Athletic Conference member South Florida on Saturday, March 12. The match between Tulane and the Bulls is set for 12 p.m. CT at City Park Tennis Center.
