Baseball Drops Game Two to Memphis

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team dropped the second game of its home series with Memphis 4-1 on Friday night inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Tulane collected just two hits, hitting .071 as a team.
Keaton Knueppel got the start on the mound for the Green Wave, going 2.2 innings, giving up three runs and striking out one.
The Wave got out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first frame as Gavin Schulz would score on a ground out off the bat of Bennett Lee. Memphis would respond with a home run in the top of the second to knot things up.
Chandler Welch would come in at the top of the third and work for 3.1 innings. The righty gave up just one hit and one run while striking out three.
The next two frames would go without a run before Memphis would hit another homer to bring the score up to 2-1 in the top of the fifth.
Pitching troubles would send Teo Bank to the mound for the first time this season. Banks went 1.1 innings and gave up just one hit while striking out one.
The Tigers would drive in two more in the eighth to bring the final score to 4-1.

The Wave returns tomorrow for the final game of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
