Volleyball Set for the 2022 Olive and Blue Scrimmage

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University volleyball team will host its final tune-up before the start of the 2022 season on Saturday, August 20 when the team takes part in the annual Olive & Blue Scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The scrimmage is free to the public.
In the 2021 Olivia and Blue match up, the Olive came out on top two sets to one, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20. The Olive team hit .363 in the match, holding the Blue team to a .250 attack percentage. Then freshman, right side hitter, Skyler Bumpers led the Olive squad with 15 kills, hitting .609 in the three-set match.
The squad returns five players from the 2021 roster, including one regular starter in libero Sophia Ervanian. The list includes seniors Lizzy Stefanov, Mackenzie Martin, Jillian Dits, junior and sophomore Bumpers.
The Green Wave went 18-14 in the regular season with an AAC mark of 11-9.
Tulane will officially open the season on Friday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions at the Lamar Invitational in Beaumont, Texas. The team will also take on Prairie View A&M and Lamar University in the two-day tournament.
