
Men's Basketball Downs SMU 97-88 for Fourth Straight AAC Win

DALLAS - A 31 point night from Jaylen Forbes would give Tulane men's basketball a win versus SMU in Dallas for the first time since December 1991.
With the 97-88 victory the team also wins its fourth straight AAC game, a feat they have not accomplished since joining the conference.
Three other player joined Forbes in double figures with Jalen Cook dropping 25 points and handing out eight assists. Kevin Cross scored his 1000th career point in his 15 point, six assist performance and Collin Holloway totaled 14.
Both teams struggled to put points on the board in the first half going three minutes without a basket with Tulane up just 2-0. Shooting 48.3 percent in the first half, Tulane was able to head into the locker room with a 34-33 lead.
SMU pulled ahead to start the second and battle with the Green Wave late into the second half. Tulane would go up by nine with just over one minute left to play thanks to a deep three from the hot hand of Forbes.
The Green Wave would go on to take the game 97-88.
