SCHEDULE
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane, defending baseball champions of the American Athletic Conference, released its 2024 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
Â
The Green Wave is coming off a fantastic finish to its 2023 season, one that saw the program charge through the conference tournament in Clearwater, Florida and into the Baton Rouge Regional of last season's NCAA bracket.
Â
In 2024, the program will play 55 games with 32 slated for Greer Field inside Turchin Stadium. The team's first 21 games will take place in the state of Louisiana and the Wave will square off against regional opponents 13 times over the course of the season.
Â
For its home games, Tulane's non-conference weekend start times will be 6:30, 2 and 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday home league games will begin at 6:30 p.m., while the Sunday tilt gets underway at 1 p.m.
Â
First pitch for midweek home games will commence at 6:30 p.m.
Â
"Our 2024 schedule will feature more home games and keeps us within our borders for the first 21 games," said head coach Jay Uhlman. "Our fans and families will see programs from nine different conferences, regional rivalries, and plenty of opportunities to catch the Wave at home."
Â
"The quality of the programs added to our conference should raise the level of play and create challenging opportunities. We welcome five new baseball playing members which enables us to stay at 27 conference games while not facing any opponent twice. We are excited about this schedule and are looking forward to defending our AAC title."Â
Â
The Green Wave will face five teams who also appeared in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, with the first being Nicholls on February 20. The two teams will play a second game in Thibodaux on March 5. The Colonels went 34-24 last season, en route to the Southland Conference title.
Â
Tulane's first weekend road series will be in Lafayette against Louisiana (March 8-10). The Ragin' Cajuns piled up 41 victories a season ago on its way to an appearance in the Coral Gables Regional.
Â
Southern Miss will tangle with the Olive and Blue twice as well (in Hattiesburg on March 26, in Uptown on April 23). The Golden Eagles went 46-20 a season ago, winning the Sun Belt championship and Auburn Regional before falling in the third game of its own Super Regional.
Â
East Carolina will be the Wave's final AAC series in Turchin in 2024 (May 10-12). The Pirates put together a 47-19 record in 2023 and commandeered the league's regular season crown before falling to Tulane in the conference championship game (8-6).
Â
The Green Wave's last conference series will be on the road against Charlotte (May 16-18). A year ago, the 49ers went 36-28 and knocked off Dallas Baptist 5-2 to take home Conference USA's postseason championship.
