
Bowling Announces the Addition of Paige Matiasek To The 2024-25 Roster

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's head bowling coach Hayley Veitch announced the addition of newcomer Paige Matiasek to the 2024-25 roster.
"Paige will be a valuable contributor to the growth of the program," Coach Veitch explained. "Her dedication and motivation to succeed at the highest level along with her competitive attitude stood out to me right away. She has a very devoted training schedule with Coach Del at the world-renowned Kegel Training Center (KTC). I am confident Paige will immediately be able to adapt to our team and I am looking forward to her addition in the fall."
Matiasek will head Uptown from Lockport, Illinois. She graduates from Lockport Township in the spring of 2024. Matiasek has been bowling for nine years including
three at the high school level through her junior season. Her high game is a 290, which she shot at the Indianapolis SYC. Her highest three-game series is a 717. She had a six-game high of a 1,305 on Johnny Petraglia for Pepsi. She has a current average of 184.2. Matiasek also has participated in Junior Gold. In 2017, in her first Jr. Gold, she finished 86th. She earned seventh as the No. 1 qualifier in 2018, took 82nd in 2019, 17th in 2021, 99th in 2022 and 31st in 2023.
In 2017, she won first place at the Wood Dale Bowl – Beijing. In 2018, she won first place at the IESA State Championships (T N C), first at the ILUSBC Youth Team Tournament, first at ILUSBC Youth All Event, first at ISST and had the high average plus was first in all events and second in highest game at the Joliet Area Princess. Also in 2018, Matiasek was the high qualifier for 12U Girls Jr Gold, won first at the Bowling.com Youth Championship (doubles) and earned first place EYT (Poplar Creek – Stockholm 18). In 2019, it was a first-place finish at IESA State Team Champions (T N C), being the individual winner at the Illinois State Pepsi 15U (while in her first year at the age of 13) and earned first EYT (Lisle Lanes – Mexico City). In 2020, the honors were first place NWIJTPA (Country Lanes – 37FT) Lowell as the youngest player to win the title, was a member of Team Illinois at the Lake Michigan Cup, won first place at the MWIJPA D-Tour at the Greater Calumet Open, earned her second Joliet Area Princess Championship with the second-highest average, placing first in all events, having the highest game and the third-highest series. In 2022, she won an IHSA Girls State Championship at the Cherry Bowl – it was her third state title (two grade school and one high school) and earning first place at the Illinois State Pepsi 18U. It was also her first year of participating in 18U as a 16-year-old. In 2023, she aided her high school to the IHSA State Team Championship (her fourth state championship – two grade school and two high school) and earned first place ISST at the TNC USBC Open Doubles Pattern.
A true standout in the classroom, Matiasek enters her senior year with a cumulative grade-point average of 4.0.
She is the daughter of William and Daniela Matiasek and has a younger sister. Matiasek plans to major in bioengineering and biomedical engineering at Tulane with aspiration to attend medical school.
She will arrive in New Orleans in the fall of 2024.
The Tulane bowling team will complete the 2023 fall semester schedule with a trip to Kenosha, Wisconsin for the Motiv Ladyjack Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin from Nov. 10-12 at the Sheridan Lanes.
