
No. 22 Bowling Downed by Louisiana Tech in the Second Round of the Southland Bowling League Tournament

Rowlett, TX – The No. 22 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling team lost both the traditional game and the baker match to Louisiana Tech in the second round of the Southland Bowling League Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Rowlett Bowl-A-Rama.
The afternoon started with a traditional game. In that contest, the seventh-seeded Green Wave fell by a 1002-900 score to the sixth-seeded Bulldogs.
The second of the tournament's best-of-the-three format contests saw Louisiana Tech defeat Tulane by a combined score of 967-810 to advance in the tournament with a victory in the second-round match. The individual game scores were 191-182 (Tulane), 160-135 (Louisiana Tech), 244-166 (Louisiana Tech), 183-148 (Louisiana Tech) and 198-170 (Louisiana Tech).
In the traditional team scoring round the scores were Amelia Vasquez 178, Morgan Gitlitz 204, Sofiia Druchyna 182, Cassidy Williams 165 and Mia Stolakis 171.
In the baker scoring round the scores were 191, 135, 166, 148 and 170.
This was the final contest in the collegiate careers of Tulane seniors Amelia Vasquez and Jenica Baron. Tulane's bowling team will next be in action during the fall of 2023.
