
Jones Named Third Team All-AAC

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Basketball graduate guard Dynah Jones was named Third Team All-American Athletic Conference on Sunday. This marks back-to-back seasons for Jones to earn a nod to a postseason All-AAC team after landing a third-team selection last season.
Jones received the honor after averaging 12.4 points per game to lead the Green Wave on 40.9 percent shooting from the field. She posted double figures in 17 games this season including 20-plus points three times. Jones also finished the regular season second in assists with 83 and steals with 46 for Tulane.
The graduate guard has also cemented herself in the Green Wave record books this season. She ranks 10th all-time in scoring with 1,413 career points and is second in games played in program history at 148 just one behind the all-time leader Sierra Cheatham with 149.
In league play, Jones averaged a team-high 12.1 points and 1.63 steals to help the Wave to a sixth-place finish in the conference. She finished 14th in the AAC in scoring, 11th in assists, and 10th in steals in conference games.
Throughout the season Jones earned AAC Weekly Honor Roll recognition twice and was named the AAC Player of the Week on December 12. She garnered the Player of the Week honor by averaging 17.5 points and 1.5 steals to lead Tulane to wins over Troy in double overtime and Southern.
The New Orleans native has now landed postseason honors from the league four times in her career in Uptown. Jones was named to the All-AAC third team in 2022 and the AAC All-Freshman team in 2019. She also become the first player in Green Wave history to be selected the AAC Sixth Player of the Year in 2020.
