
Bowling Team Ranked Nationally In The Final NTCA Poll

New Orleans – The Tulane University bowling team finished the 2022-23 season ranked No. 22 nationally in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Final Poll, the organization announced this afternoon.
The Green Wave earned 63 overall points to secure a national ranking in all five poll this season. The program was also ranked No. 22 in each of the previously two polls.
Tulane was one seven teams from the Southland Bowling League that finished ranked in the top-25 by the NCAA Coaches. National Champion Vanderbilt was ranked number one, National Runner-up Arkansas State ranked second, Stephen F. Austin placed fifth, Youngstown State ended up seventh, Sam Houston State ranked ninth and Louisiana Tech was 10th.
This year's Tulane bowling roster featured five returners in sophomore Katharina Mente, senior Jenica Baron, junior Morgan Gitlitz, senior Amelia Vasquez and junior Yarelis Alvarez. The program's three newcomers were freshmen Cassidy Williams and Mia Stolakis plus sophomore Sofiia Druchyna.
This season, Gitlitz lead the team with 7,992 total pins. Vasquez had the highest average on the squad at 195.8, while Stolakis recorded the highest individual performance with her 266 against UMES (10/15). Tulane sported an overall 71-51 record this season.
