
Green Wave Finishes 12th in the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Tulane sailing team fell short of advancing to the Final 8 finishing 12th overall out of 16 teams in the sits in the 2023 ICSA Open Team Race National Championship Sunday. The Green Wave ended the round robin races with a 5-10 overall record.

On the second day of round robin racing the Wave recorded a 3-4 record slipping from 11th overall to 12th. Skippers Cameron Giblin, Thad Lettsome, Asher Zittrer, Matheo Capasso, and Quinn Keenan raced with crews Andrea Riefkohl-Gonzalez, Alex Makoid, and Gillian Perrell to earn pick up wins over Georgetown, Tufts, and Purdue on Sudnay. The Wave also recorded wins against Fordham and Miami in round robin competition.

Up next, Tulane will prepare to defend its 2022 national title in the 2023 ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship. The final discipline of nationals is set to begin on Tuesday from Kings Point, New York.
