Langford Named to Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Preseason Watch List
Oct 24, 2024 | Women's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane women's basketball head coach Ashley Langford has been named to the 2025 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Preseason Watch List, presented by Her Hoop Stats.Â
This honor follows a remarkable tenure at Stony Brook University, where Langford led the Seawolves to a 69-24 record over three seasons, the highest winning percentage (.741) in the program's history.
Langford enters her first season as head coach ahead of the Wave's 2024-25 slate, returning to Uptown with a reputation for building successful programs. Last season, she earned Coastal Athletic Association Coach of the Year honors, leading Stony Brook to a 28-5 record, a regular season title, and a second-round appearance in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). Under her leadership, the Seawolves earned recognition in the WBCA Academic Top 25.
Tulane enters the season with two returning starters, including standout Kyren Whittington, the team's top scorer, who was recently named to the AAC Preseason All-Conference Second Team.Â
The 2024-25 season tips off on Saturday, Nov. 7 at home in Uptown as Tulane takes on Nicholls at 6:30 PM.
