Bowling Goes Undefeated During Day 2 of Colonial Lanes Classic

DAY 1 AND 2 RESULTS
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane bowling dominated during its second day of home competition, sweeping all five traditional matches and landing three bowlers in the top 25. Tulane beat North Carolina A&T, Alabama State, Sam Houston, Wichita State, and Newman, and had three final scores over 1000 pins.Â
Paige Matiasek ended the day as 14th out of 140 bowlers, having totaled 1,044 pins and averaging 208.80 per game. Nancy Kohut achieved 15th overall from 1,041 total pins and an average of 208.20 per game. Mia Stolakis clinched a top 25 spot with 22nd place from 1,022 total pins and 204.40 pins per game.
Tulane first faced North Carolina A&T and defeated them 1115 to 987. Cassidy Williams led the Wave with 245, closely followed by Stolakis' 235. Kohut and Matiasek bowled 225 and 212, and Emma Fetterman rounded out the super-1000 team score.Â
Next, Tulane beat Alabama State 927 to 901. Fetterman led the Wave next, logging a pin count of 225. Stolakis followed up with 185 pins, while Kohut had 176, Williams 171, and Matiasek 170.Â
The Green Wave scored above 1000 again in its match against Sam Houston, where it defeated the Bearkats 1070-1006. Fetterman led the effort once more, while Matiasek stepped up to give 225 pins to the Wave. Kohut contributed 213, while Stolakis and Williams knocked down 199 and 189.
Tulane came out on top in its fourth match versus Wichita State, beating the Shockers 964-932. Fetterman led the Wave for the third match in a row, putting up 233 pins. Matiasek cleared 200, while Stolakis scored 191. Kohut gave 182, and Williams had 158.Â
Finally, the Green Wave scored over 1000 in its match against Newman, toppling them 1067-913. Kohut bowled the way to the win, hitting 245 pins, while Matiasek had a close 237 pins. Fetterman and Stolakis had near-adjacent totals of 214 and 212, and Juanelyz Solla came in to bowl 159.Â
Tulane is now ranked sixth in the tournament with its total pin count of 9,914 (4,771 baker, 5,143 traditional). Vanderbilt moved up to first place, while Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston are second and third.Â
Tomorrow, Tulane will compete for third place against North Carolina A&T.
