Morgan Gitlitz Falls in the First Round of the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships

Jeffersontown, Kentucky –  Morgan Gitlitz fell in the first round of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) on Tuesday at Kingpin Lanes in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.
Gitlitz started the day by placing 11th following the opening six games of the qualifying round of the tournament with 1215 pins. Her individual game scores were 189, 169, 224, 242, 169 and 222.
She then played and was eliminated in the first round of the USBC ISC by a 540-516 score to Maya Avilez of North Carolina A&T in the three-game total pinfall format.
Gitlitz along the rest of Tulane's bowling team will next be in action on Thursday, April 18, for the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) also in Jeffersontown, Kentucky at Kingpin Lanes. The format for the ITC is 24 baker game qualifying followed by best-of-seven Baker bracket play. The qualifying round on Thursday at 7 a.m. will consist of 24 Baker games to determine seeding for the double-elimination match-play bracket. All matches leading up to the title match will be contested in a best-of-seven Baker format. The first and second rounds will also be contested on Thursday. The first round begins at 3 p.m., while the second round begins at 5 p.m.
