
Track and Field’s Jack Jennings Achieves Top-10 School Mark in 5000m at Wake Forest

Winston Salem, North Carolina / Lexington, Kentucky – Jack Jennings ran the school's fourth-best men's 5000m time at the Wake Forest Invitational to highlight the action for Tulane's track and field team at a pair of meets on Friday. The team also participated in the Jim Green Track & Field Invitational in Kentucky on the day.
Jennings' run of 14:03.01 ranks him fourth all-time in the record book in the 5000m just ahead of Emmanuel Rotich's mark of 14:04.8 set during the 2017 season. Jennings placed 28th overall at the men's 5000m invite in Winston Salem, North Carolina
At the Jim Green Invitational, after the first five events of the heptathlon, Sofie Groeninger is ranked fourth overall with 2816 points. In the individual events of the heptathlon, she was seventh in the 100m hurdles (15.66), seventh in the high jump (1.51m/4'11.50"), seventh in the 200m (27.20) and second in the shot put (13.09m/42'11.50"). Her shot-put throw ranks her 10th all-time at Tulane in the event just ahead of Moji Alade throw of 12.51m from 2002.
Also from the first day of Jim Green, Laura Fodor placed sixth in the women's long jump with her leap of 5.61m/18'5". Kara Schiek finished fourth in the women's javelin with a throw of 38.61m/125'8". Robyn Larkan was the team's top finisher in the women's 200m with her time of 25.43. Roman Schrader took 13th in the 800m with his 1:55.55.
Next the program will finishes up competition at the Jim Green Invitational with the second day on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m. with the heptathlon long jump.
