
Track and Field Has a Pair of Top-10 School Marks on Friday.

Des Moines, Iowa / Jacksonville, Florida – Elena Liano-Rengel finished as the runner up in the 800m to help lead the Tulane track and field program at the Drake Relay in Iowa on Friday. She had one of the team's two top-10 school marks on the day. The program also competed at the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Florida.
Liano-Rengel's runner-up performance was a 2:08.84. The time betters her previous top-10 Tulane mark set earlier this year and currently ranks her eighth.
The 4x800m relay team of Roman Schrader, Jalen St. Fort, Sam Cohen and Zander Dunbar placed sixth with a 7:38.49. The time is the fifth best in school history bettering a mark that was originally set in 1947.
Illia Kunin placed eighth in the men's 1500m (3:54.60).
At the East Coast Relays, Cosette Fleury placed 10th in the women's pole vault with a personal record 3.45m/11'03.75".
Sofie Groeninger took 10th in the women's shot put with a 12.31m/40'04.75". Alyssa Dismuke placed 12th in the shot put with her 11.43m/37'06.00", while Emma Simons earned 15th with a season best 9.03m/29'07.50".
Anna Schadel placed 19th in the women's 1500m with a 4:40.95. Macy Turcotte set a person record with a 3:44.84 in the 1500m.
Mason Wong took 11th in the men's 3000m steeplechase (9:40.97).
Alan Deogracias III was ninth in the invite of the men's 5,000 with a personal best 14:38.00.
Francisco Roman III was the team's top finisher in the men's long jump with a leap of 5.88m/19'03.50".
Tolu Ajayi was the team's top finisher and set a personal best in the women's 200m.
Patricija Ozolina took 12th in the high jump (1.55m/5'01"). Laura Fodor took 20th with a 1.45m/4'49".
Kate Sander placed 11th in the invite for the pole vault with 3.75m/12'03.50".
Lili Grant was the team's top finisher in the women's 5000m in eighth with a personal record 17:59.04.
Juan Giron finished third in the men's 5000m with a personal best 15:11.67. Adam Aldahir placed fifth with a personal best 15:14.58, while Chase Cartwright ran a 15:14.91.
On Saturday the team wraps up the competition at the Drake Relays in Iowa and in the East Coast Relays in Florida.
