
Baseball Sees Four Named LSWA All-State

Lafayette, Louisiana – The Tulane baseball team, fresh off its second straight American Athletic Conference (AAC) title and trip to the NCAA Tournament, had four individuals earn Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-State honors, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Jackson Linn earned Second Team All-State honors as an outfielder. He hit .299 on the season with 40 runs scored, 56 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, a team-leading 16 home runs, 45 RBIs, 123 total bases, a .658 slugging percentage and seven stolen bases. Linn was previously named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2024 AAC Baseball Championship,
Fellow outfielder Teo Banks also earned Second Team honors. He put up a .265 batting average with 51 runs scored, 62 hits, a team-leading 19 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 51 RBIs, 127 total bases, a .543 slugging percentage, 22 walks, 22 hit by pitches and seven stolen bases. Banks was previously named to the 2024 AAC Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team.
Third baseman Gavin Schulz was an Honorable Mention All-State selection. Schulz hit. 303 on the season with 48 runs, a team-leading 71 hits, 13 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 51 RBIs, 121 bases, a .517 slugging percentage, 23 walks and seven stolen bases. Schulz, following the end of the regular season, was a First Team All-AAC selection and earned a spot on the AAC Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team.
Michael Lombardi was an Honorable Mention All-State selection as a utility player. He hit .277 on the season with 25 runs, 39 hits, seven doubles, two home runs, 26 RBIs, 52 total bases, 18 walks and two stolen bases as a hitter. On the mound he went 4-3 with a 3.89 ERA and one save in 41.2 innings pitched, he allowed just 27 hits while striking out 53 and surrendering a .189 batting average against. Lombardi, following the end of the regular season, was a Second Team All-AAC selection.
Tulane's baseball team went 36-26 during the 2024 season to earn the team's second straight AAC Championship and earn a post-season berth to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive campaign. The program defeated Nicholls State 3-0 in the tournament for the first NCAA shutout since 2005 over Rice in the Super Regionals. The victory was the first for the program in the NCAA Tournament since 2016 when the team defeated Utah by a 4-1 score.
