
Tulane Closes out Pelican Invitational With 3-0 Tournament Record

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Volleyball shut out the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) today during its final match of the Pelican Invitational, the second home tournament of the season. With this win against the Golden Lions, Tulane capped off an undefeated tournament weekend, extending its win streak to four. This marks the first tournament sweep for the Green Wave under Head Coach Jordana Price.
Tulane swept UAPB, closing out the sets 25-18, 25-11, and 25-10. The effort was spearheaded by Sabrina Skyers, who tallied eight kills and earned herself a hitting percentage of .667. She also put up three blocks assists, bringing her weekend total up to 15. Avery Burks also contributed eight kills and 15 receptions, servicing both the offense and defense.Â
Sami Jacobs added 7 kills and a stunning five service aces. Agata Beksha hit .857 thanks to six kills off of seven attempts. Amelia Haggins went two-for-two with attempts and kills, and Katherine Crosley gave 21 assists.Â
On the defensive side, Annabelle He logged a team-leading 36 digs, followed by Jacobs with 35 and Crosley with 28. Freshman Juliet Galla also shone, alternating as libero and establishing herself as a valuable defender.Â
Throughout the tournament, Skyers and Ava Derbes both totaled 25 kills, while Burks led with 29. Jacobs and Jordan White ended with 20 a piece. Skyers achieved a staggering 20 blocks, five of them solo. Jacobs administered seven service aces, while Zoe Rachow followed up with five.Â

Tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 21, the Green Wave will face the University of Arkansas - Pine Bluff at 3:00 p.m. Then, they will host Rice on Friday, Sept. 27 at 2:00 p.m.Â
