
Bowling Closes Out Northeast Classic

NEW CASTLE – Tulane Bowling wrapped competition in the Northeast Classic today, concluding their first tournament of the new year.
The Green Wave took on three teams in a series of baker matches, winning one and losing two.
Tulane opened the day with a victory over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), beating the Hawks 4-3. Tulane took game two (192-154) and swept games five through seven 163-156, 214-189, and 170-156. UMES claimed games one (184-171), three (194-174), and four (247-177).
The Wave next faced Mercyhurst University, who triumphed 4-2. Tulane decisively clinched games two (241-183) and four (246-181). Mercyhurst eclipsed the Wave in games one (214-202), three (203-181), five (254-212), and six (189-160).
In their final match of the tournament, Tulane took on UMES once again, who came from behind to win the set 4-2. UMES won game one 144-118, but Tulane returned with wins in two (210-207) and three (241-188). UMES was able to overcome the Wave in the remaining games, however, and claimed games four (223-189), five (187-114), and six (194-171).
Tulane put up 43 turkeys and scored five clean games over the tournament.
The Green Wave will next head to St. Louis for the the Columbia 300 Saints Invite hosted by Maryville University from Friday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 2.
