
Tulane Off to Strong Start in Denver

DENVER, Colo. – Tulane women's golf landed tied for fifth among 15 teams at the conclusion of the opening day at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Denver. The Green Wave posted a team score of 286 (-2) in the first round to end play Friday tied with the tournament host Denver Pioneers.
Christina Albertazzi, Sophia Chen, and Gabriella Gilrowski led the Green Wave through the first 18 holes of action each recording a 71 (-1) in the round. The trio sits in a tie with six other players for 20th overall on the leaderboard.
Albertazzi paced the Wave in the opening round sinking five birdies. She was followed by Chen and Francesca Pompa with three birdies each while Gilrowski added a pair of her own.
Pompa was next up on the leaderboard for Tulane after shooting a 73 (+1) to close the first round tied for 33rd overall.
Rounding out the lineup for the Green Wave, Sohpia Macias ended day one tied for 72nd overall with an 18-hole score of 79 (+7).
UP NEXT
Tulane will continue competition in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate with the second round of the tournament on Saturday. Play is set to start at 10:30 a.m. CT with the first player for the Wave teeing off at 11:20 a.m. CT.
