Tulane Finishes Eighth at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

DENVER, Colo. – Tulane women's golf claimed eighth place out of 15 teams competing at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate tournament hosted by the University of Denver over the weekend. The Green Wave closed with total team score of 882 (+18) after shooting a 301 (+13) in the third and final round on Sunday.
Junior Sophia Chen was the top performer of the weekend for the Wave as she finished tied for 15th overall with a 54-hole score of 216 (E – 71, 72, 73). Chen's 15th-place performance marked her best finish since joining the Green Wave last season. Her previous best came in the Green Wave Invitational in September 2024 where she placed 25th.
She closed the tournament with a 73 (+1) in the final round including a pair of birdies. Chen ended with seven total birdies for the tournament and led Tulane in pars with 34 and on all par fives averaging 4.72 strokes.
Christina Albertazzi was the next player in the standings for the Green Wave after three rounds of action. She landed tied for 35th overall with a total score of 222 (+6 – 71, 73, 78). Albertazzi finished second on the team with eight total birdies over the weekend.
Next up on the leaderboard for Tulane was Francesca Pompa who closed her 54-hole performance with a total score of 223 (+7 – 73, 74, 76) to tie for 41st in the tournament. Pompa paced the Green Wave during the tournament sinking nine total birdies through three rounds of play.
Rounding out the group for the Wave were Sophia Macias and Gabriella Gilrowski who both tied for 65th overall with a final score of 229 (+13). Macias posted rounds of 79 (+7), 76 (+4), and 74 (+2) in the three-round tournament while Gilrowski recorded rounds of 71 (-1), 80 (+8), and 78 (+6).

Tulane make the journey to Hawaii to play in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted by Hawaii. The tournament will be played in Lihu'e, Kaua'i, at the Ocean Coarse at Hokuala from October 20-22.
