Stolakis Named MVP as No. 19 Tulane Goes 4-1 on Day Two of Colonial Lanes Classic
Nov 22, 2025 | Women's Bowling
HARAHAN, La. – Mia Stolakis made program history Saturday at the Colonial Lanes Classic, securing a first-place finish individually for the No. 19 Green Wave. Tulane finished the day in eighth after going 4-1 with a top-two triumph and 5,024 pins today at Colonial Lanes.
Â
In five traditional matches, the Wave went 4-1 with the lone loss coming to a top-three team. The Wave had 5,024 pins today to move the tournament total to 10,013 with a rate of 200.3 per game. With a 7-3 overall record, Tulane finished the qualifying portion of the event in eighth place. The Wave opened the day emphatically with a 1,099-1,054 triumph over No. 2 Nebraska. A 985-888 victory followed over Southern, and the Wave continued to roll by downing Prairie View A&M 1,025-886. Another lopsided win came by a margin of 978-709 over Florida A&M. Tulane looked for the daily sweep, but No. 3 Vanderbilt became the only team to best Tulane today, taking the win 1,072-937.
Â
Mia Stolakis had a historic day for the Wave, posting a pin total of 1,182 with a game average of 236.40 to place first among the 100 competitors. She eclipsed 200 in every game, opening with scores of 208 and 239. She put forth a quality 257 in game three, but game four was her best effort of the day. Against the Rattlers, Stolakis tallied nine consecutive strikes but could not quite close it out in the 10th frame. Despite just missing the perfect game, she bowled a 267. A 211 closed her day. Stolakis is event's MVP, the first for the team since herself last season in the Southern Queens Tournament. Thus, she is the first Wave bowler to claim two MVP honors in a career, and she is the first Tulane bowler to claim the honor in the program's Colonial Lanes Classic.
