
Tulane Trio Earns All-AAC Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The American Athletic Conference announced the men's basketball award winners and all-conference teams for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday with Tulane's Rowan Brumbaugh, Kaleb Banks, and Kam Williams each earning honors.

Brumbaugh garnered All-AAC First Team and All-Newcomer Team recognition after finishing the regular season averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.5 steals to lead the Green Wave. He ended the season ranked second in assists, seventh in scoring, and ninth in steals in the league. The redshirt sophomore closed the season scoring in double figures in 27 consecutive games including seven games with at least 20 points. He also dished out double digit assists twice this season to record a pair of double-doubles.

In conference play Brumbaugh scored in double figures in every game averaging a team high 17.2 points against league opponents. He also tallied 4.7 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steal per game during conference play.

Banks landed on the All-AAC Second Team after posting 15.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game for the Wave. The junior forward led Tulane in rebounding, blocks, and field goal percentage connecting at a 51.3 percent clip from the floor. Banks finished the year ranked seventh in the conference in blocks, ninth in scoring, and 10th in rebounding.

The landmark game of the season for Banks came against Florida State on December 14 when he tallied a career-high 33 points and 16 rebounds. He ultimately closed the season scoring in double figures 23 times including a team-high 10 games with at least 20 points. He also recorded a team-best seven double-doubles.

Williams averaged 9.3 points, 4.3 boards, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 block in his first collegiate season to earn All-AAC Freshman Team honors. The Louisiana native led the Green Wave from three-point range connecting at a 41.4 percent clip from beyond the arc which ranked fifth in the conference.

During his first year with the Wave Williams posted 13 games in double figures including a career-high 24 points in the regular season finale against UAB on March 9. He also led all freshmen in The American in minutes averaging 32.18 minutes on the floor which ranked 12th in the conference.

The Green Wave finished the regular season with an 18-13 record overall and a 12-6 mark in conference play to earn the No. 4 seed in the AAC Championship this week in Fort Worth, Texas. The 12 league victories match a program-best since joining The American and marks the third season under Head Coach Ron Hunter the Wave has earned double-digit wins in conference play.

After earning a double-bye in the tournament, Tulane will open the AAC Championship in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 14. The Green Wave will face either the five-seed Florida Atlantic, 12-seed Rice, or 13-seed Charlotte at 2 p.m. in Dickies Arena.
